Stanwell Energy Park will have 'as of right' use for land within the Park through extensive consultation with Federal, State and Local authorities and neighbouring communities. Community consultation processes are well established, with local communities united in their focus on the importance of continued industrial development in the region, a consequence of the Power Station's development and operation over a 10 year period.

Detailed land use planning information assists developers secure an appropriate position respective to requirements, with special consideration to location specific synergies.

Industrial development is regulated by the Fitzroy Shire Council's Development Control Plan that recognises the requirements of industry while addressing environmental, cultural, social and community considerations. The Development Control Plan has recently been implemented to cater for industrial development in this identified development corridor between Gracemere township and Stanwell. Industries wishing to establish will be required to conduct an environmental impact assessment as required by Queensland's Environmental Protection Agency.
